Sarah Eden is a must read. She has such a gentle way of writing that transports the reader back to another time. Her characters are flawed with insecurities and weaknesses to overcome which makes them human. Romancing Daphne is no exception.
The Ordinary Princess was one of my favorite books growing up. This book is well loved, as you can see from the picture. It has been read dozens of times by me to many friends and family! As with many fairy tales, this story begins with a fairy ‘gift’ bestowed upon Her Serene and Royal Highness, the Princess Amethyst Alexandra Augusta Araminta Adelaide Aurelia Anne of Phantasmorania, also known as Amy.
The first of a duology, Larson expertly weaves a story set in a world of magic with a re-telling of Swan Lake in Dark Breaks the Dawn. The title and cover of Dark Breaks the Dawn are beautiful and gives insight into the storyline.
Given to me by a good friend many years ago, Meredith, the Witch Who Wasn’t, still remains one of my favorites. It is a fun, uplifting Halloween story with themes of gifts, following your heart, and acceptance. Readers can enjoy this book any time throughout the year. As the title suggests, Meredith was a witch who […]
I discovered I’ll See You in Paris while shelving some books at the city library, and fell in love with both the cover and the title! Although not much of this book actually takes place in Paris, the title is what drew me to this book. This book begins with Laurel and Annie (mother and daughter) […]
Jennifer Ryan’s debut novel, The Chilbury Ladies’ Choir, is among my favorite books I’ve read this year! Reminding me a little of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society, this book is written as a series of letters, articles and diary entries during WWII. The book is set in a small English village and shows […]
I loved the premise of this book. Elise and Nicholas, tired of being alone for the holidays, draw up a contract for an eight week relationship. Elise doesn’t like the formality of the word contract, so it becomes ‘The Mistletoe Promise’. They bring out their calendars and schedule the next eight weeks together, both attending […]
