from goodreads: Unknowingly cast as the bachelorette for her town’s charity event, Taycee Emerson wants out. Especially when she discovers her old teenage crush, Luke Carney, is one of the bachelors and it's up to the viewers--not her--to decide which bachelors stay or go.
Coerced into participating, Taycee does what any self-preserving girl would do. She launches a subtle attack on Luke’s good name with the hope of getting him voted off the show. Unfortunately, Luke's an eye-for-an-eye kind of guy, and when he discovers what she's up to, it means revenge.
But when their pranks go south, will they screw up any chance they have at a future together, or will they be able to forgive and forget and prove that love really does conquer all?
I loved this book! It has a clever plot, fun twists, and laugh-aloud scenes. Definitely a romantic comedy, but with more depth. I appreciate that this book addresses issues that I had never even thought about before. I love the main character, Taycee. I love that she is strong and smart and has a good sense of humor. I've always thought about running my own business, so it was interesting to see how Taycee balanced life and running her own floral shop.
The characters were all very real. I liked seeing how Taycee fears change, recognizes that it is fear that is holding her back, and works on overcoming it. I love that she learns that sometimes you have to set goals that make you stretch a little, even if it seems a little scary (probably something I needed to hear!).
This is definitely my favorite of Rachael's books. This book is not only a clean romance, but a delightful glimpse into small-town life with several lovable characters.
