Entwined by Heather Dixon

From goodreads: Azalea is trapped. Just when she should feel that everything is before her . . . beautiful gowns, dashing suitors, balls filled with dancing . . . it's taken away. All of it.
The Keeper understands. He's trapped, too, held for centuries within the walls of the palace. And so he extends an invitation.
Every night, Azalea and her eleven sisters may step through the enchanted passage in their room to dance in his silver forest.
But there is a cost.
The Keeper likes to keep things.
Azalea may not realize how tangled she is in his web until it is too late.

This is no doubt one of the most beautiful book covers I have ever seen. I would have bought this book for the cover alone! But fortunately, the content is just as beautiful. I can't say enough about this book. A re-telling of The Twelve Dancing Princesses, Entwined, also has some elements of Beauty and the Beast and The Sleeping Beauty. An engaging story of Azalea and her eleven sisters, this book fills in some of the gaps left by the original fairy tale. I love how it shows why the girls were so compelled to go dancing every night, why they couldn't tell anyone about it, how there was an entire magical world underneath their palace, and why the King had to offer a reward to figure out the truth of their dancing. It was great that each of the sisters was named for a flower, and alphabetically in age order. It was convenient in figuring out how old each girl was! I love how close the sisters were, and how there was no bitterness in taking care of each other. The history of their country was fascinating, and the villain was intriguing in a dark, romantic way. It was fun, too, how Azalea used dancing-the thing she is the most comfortable with, to steady herself and comfort her sisters. I loved Azalea's strength, and how she ended up saving her family with a force stronger than magic-love.
